      E-mail Administration

Day-Lite Consulting supplies an online control panel to administer the e-mail accounts in your domain. Through this control panel, you can view your existing e-mail accounts, add new e-mail accounts, and remove existing e-mail accounts 24 hours/day and the changes are effective immediately.

The control panel is available through your web browser and provides password protection to prevent unauthorized changes to your existing e-mail accounts. Before you can access the control panel, an e-mail administrator must be assigned who has authority to modify your existing e-mail accounts. If you would like to add an e-mail administrator for your domain, please contact us to make arrangements.

      E-mail administrator Login Screen

The figure above shows the E-mail Administrator Login form which the e-mail administrator will use to login to administer their e-mail accounts.

To login to administer your e-mail accounts:

The assigned e-mail administrator enters their login in the "Login" field and their password in the "Password" field and then click on "Login".

If the e-mail administrator enters the correct login/password, they will be presented with a list of the defined e-mail addresses for the domain name. Each e-mail address shows whether incoming e-mail is locally stored on the Day-Lite Consulting mail server or if it is forwarded to another e-mail address. It also shows username assigned to the e-mail address if it is locally stored or the forwarding e-mail address if it is forwarded.

Add a new E-mail address to your domain

In the figure above, the lower table is used to define new e-mail addresses.

To add a new locally stored e-mail address:

Make sure the "Local" radio button is selected (as shown above), enter the new e-mail address in the "E-mail" field without the "@" symbol or the domain name, enter a username that serves as the login which will be used to retrieve the e-mail for this e-mail address, and enter a password for this new e-mail address. Then click on "Add E-mail Address".

If you want e-mail received from different e-mail addresses to go to the same mailbox, select the same username as previously selected for an e-mail address.

NOTE: If the username selected has already been chosen by an e-mail administrator of a different domain name, you will be prompted to select a different username.

To add a forwarded e-mail address:

Make sure to "Fwd" radio button is selected, enter the new e-mail address in the "E-mail" field without the "@" symbol or the domain name, and enter the e-mail address to forward all incoming e-mail to in the "Forwarding Address" field. Then click on "Add E-mail Address".

Multiple e-mail addresses may be defined to point to the same forwarded e-mail address.

Remove an existing E-mail address from your domain

In the figure above, the upper table is used to view defined e-mail address(es) and to remove defined e-mail address(es).

To remove a defined e-mail address:

Click the "Remove" field next to each e-mail address to remove and then click on "Remove E-mail Address(es)".

Once an e-mail address is removed, incoming e-mail for the e-mail address will be rejected and sent back to the sender as undeliverable. E-mail messages already received for a locally stored e-mail address that is removed will not be deleted immediately. However it will not be accessible unless a new e-mail address is defined with the same username as the e-mail address deleted.

To change the e-mail address for an already defined, locally stored e-mail address, delete the e-mail address and then promptly add the same e-mail address with a different password.
